Ensoniq Transwave

A Transwave is Ensoniq's variant of wavetable scanning — as in the VFX, TS, and Fizmo — where the oscillator sweeps stored waves with programmable start, end, and loop points.

Because a patch can define which slice of the wave bank it scans and how the scan loops, one stored bank serves many different evolving behaviors. Ensoniq built whole instruments around the idea, and the Fizmo's slowly swirling pads are still cited as classic Transwave sound design.
