What Protein expects
No user wavetable import: oscillators select from the original Microwave 1 wavetables. Waldorf's CEO stated loading user wavetables 'is not currently possible, but this feature may be added in the future' — a pre-release chat reported November 2025.
Can you import wavetables into Protein at all?
No — the Protein cannot load user wavetables. Its oscillators select from the original Microwave 1 wavetables, and that is the entire oscillator palette.
Waldorf's CEO stated in a pre-release chat (reported November 2025) that loading user wavetables "is not currently possible, but this feature may be added in the future" — so this answer holds until Waldorf says otherwise (the statement is linked in the sources below).
What you can bring to the Protein is patches and modulation, not tables. For user tables in a Waldorf instrument, the Blofeld, Iridium / Quantum, and M all import them.
