8×8 wavetable bank

An 8×8 wavetable bank lays 64 wavetables out on a grid, so two control signals — one per axis — scan the whole bank instead of one table's frames.

The Synthesis Technology E352 and E370 expose their 64 tables of 256 samples this way, and the Piston Honda MK3 fills an equivalent 8 × 8 × 8 cube of waves from eight WAV files on its card. It turns the bank itself into a two-dimensional playing surface: timbre can jump or glide between unrelated tables, not just between the frames inside one table.
